Despite evidence and experience demonstrating that strategic, comprehensive, and holistic approaches can wield a far greater \u2013 and more lasting \u2013 impact on the prevention and countering of violent extremism, PCVE remains under-utilized specially in Somalia because Somalia is the most dangerous country to live without to be nonIslam even the foreign families from other Islamic department suni-beleivers like Shia cannot maintain to live in Somalia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whereas, to raise awareness of the threats linked to violent extremism and to enhance international cooperation, the United Nations General Assembly (in its resolution 77\/243) declared 12 February the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism as and when Conducive to Terrorism. The resolution highlights the important role of intergovernmental organizations, civil society, academia, religious leaders and the media in countering terrorism and preventing violent extremism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cViolent extremism is an affront to the purposes and principles of the United Nations. It undermines peace and security, human rights and sustainable development. No country or region is immune from its impacts \u201csaid UNESCO<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a>IGAD Centre of Excellence for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (ICEPCVE) <\/a>collaborates with partners in strengthening the capacity of communities at risk of radicalization. As result of that, Dr. Daud Abdi Daud, FESU director general attended several workshops and conferences about the PCVE programs and was one of the CSO\u2019s represented the opening inauguration of the Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/fesu.so\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/FB_IMG_1683021492450.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fesu.so\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/FB_IMG_1683021492450.jpg 720w, https:\/\/fesu.so\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/FB_IMG_1683021492450-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fesu.so\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/FB_IMG_1683021492450-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The inaugurated in April 2018, The IGAD Centre of Excellence for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (ICEPCVE), the premier P\/CVE institution on the African continent, was established to promote the sharing of good practices and lessons learnt from initiatives to prevent and counter violent extremism in the East and Horn of Africa region and to bring together state and non-state actors involved in P\/CVE work to ensure an inclusive and holistic approach.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"477\" src=\"https:\/\/fesu.so\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/FB_IMG_1683021480298.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fesu.so\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/FB_IMG_1683021480298.jpg 720w, https:\/\/fesu.so\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/FB_IMG_1683021480298-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) will work closely the Intergovernmental Authority On Development (IGAD) in particularly IGAD Centre of Excellence for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (ICEPCVE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The members of the Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) will promote gigantic cooperation with UNESCO and other education development agencies including USAID and GEED by joining the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism celebrations around the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>since the start of the Global War on Terror on 11 September, 2001, the approach to counter-terrorism has remained overwhelmingly focused on security-dominated responses, despite such approaches repeatedly proving insufficient to prevent and counter the spread of violent extremism across the globe.
