The Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) reaffirmed yester her membership to the the Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict (UNETCHAC), in which launched in November 2020 with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, represents the first International Academic Network for the Protection of Children in Armed Conflict with the aim to enhance the role of the Academic Community in the international framework in promoting activities and shared initiatives and fostering the cooperation with the main national, regional and international key actors engaged in the protection of children directly and indirectly involved in armed conflict.
The Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU), is also created under the auspices of UN Strategic Joint for Educational Matters Development UNSJEDM) in 2022, is a membership-based organisation serving the national higher education community through: expertise & trends analysis, publications & portals, advisory services, peer-to-peer learning, events as well as doing national, regional, continental and global level advocacy by developing Somalia higher education system after the collapse of the central government since 1990.
