Since January 2023, the Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) has been working in across Somalia and is dedicated to engaging and empowering local education communities, families, and individuals through programs in WhatsApp action, admissions exhibition via Facebook and other social media channels by developing education system. Our programs are designed to build capacity, promote self-sufficiency, and increase inclusion of all levels.
FESU aims to support teachers in integrating media analysis and production into their classes and building a robust critical media literacy curriculum and online Library system.

The foundations of FESU were laid during Daud’s upbringing: growing up in the Bay Area, he witnessed both the problems with the standard public-school curriculum, as well as alternative forms of education that sought to disrupt the standard. His journey was spent attending many different workshops with different Schooling aims in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda, where he participated in a preventing Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) training course by IGAD at Djibouti. These experiences culminated in the foundation of FESU in 2022.
Obviously, Human rights can only be achieved through an informed and continued demand by people for their protection. Human rights education promotes values, beliefs and attitudes that encourage all individuals to uphold their own rights and those of others. It develops an understanding of everyone’s common responsibility to make human rights a reality in each community. Human rights education constitutes an essential contribution to the long-term prevention of human rights abuses and represents an important investment in the endeavour to achieve a just society in which all human rights of all persons are valued and respected.
Though FESU is Educational Media Initiative promoted the use of a range of media to strengthen current efforts in Somalia to promote quality education for youth of all ages and go to school project for children of all ages.
