The Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) underlines today that Human rights education (HRE) is currently imperative in Somalia and due to her importance & impact can cause PCVE programs awareness and prevention because HRE knowledge is a critical tool for preventing human rights abuses and building justice societies. It empowers even academic and non-academic individuals and communities to defend their rights and those of others. And as result of that, it can create democracy promotion in such developing nation of Somalia and by fostering active citizenship and participation in democratic processes.
The Human rights education (HRE) is a lifelong learning process that builds knowledge, skills, and values aimed at empowering individuals to uphold human rights, dignity, and equality for all. It covers standards, mechanisms, and action to prevent violations and foster a universal culture of human rights.
However, the current status of the nation and towards the Knowledge understanding for human rights principles and mechanisms is rare and not widely shared through the education institutions sectorally.
