The Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) announces $1 million commitment to support Somalia higher Education services and its academic business and financial dynamics and advance transparency, accountability and governance on the nation and beyond Horn of Africa specially the Somali speaking region.
FESU Director General H. E. Dr. Daud Abdi Daud who was back to the capital of Mogadishu said “this is a two-year program to build her members capacity, convene international academic accreditations and improve access to informative academia programs and goodwill research mechanisms in order to advance transparency, accountability and the good governance on the nations climate of education”.
Timely and accurate reporting, transforming and accrediting of the higher education business and financial matters play a critical role in advancing efficient markets and is a key driver in supporting economic and social growth. Strengthening business and economic edutech nature coverage, expanding training programs for educators and providing greater access to reliable edudata about Somalia are frequently cited as important enablers to the continent’s continued higher education development.
The Global Universities Networks, UNESCO, African Development Bank, UNDP, USAID and World Bank will provide cross disciplinary education programs funding and mid-career fellowships to increase the number of highly-trained business and financial educators networking, convene Somalia forums to examine nationwide education best practices and support research to stimulate FESU and other EDU-CSO innovations.
“The initial focus of the $1 million commitment before 2030 will be on four regional states who are a member of the Federal Government of Somalia”. Dr. Daud added
FESU Director General also said. “The Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) will foster collaboration, support professional growth and nurture the Universities leaders who are contributing to the FESU’s very bright future.
