SOMESHA University of Somalia Joined the Federation!

The Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) thrilled to register the nation’s only pure higher education institution for mass communication and journalism study.  Journalism education provides students with the skills to gather, analyze, and present news and information to the public. It also prepares students to work in a variety of media roles, including writing, broadcasting, and digital media.

The Somali Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (SOMESHA) created this university and is a non-profit and non-governmental association, which is an umbrella body of professionals from many different families with different districts and it is the third labour union representing over 30 journalists nationwide. It’s the second organization that brings together the largest number of journalists in Somalia and it became recognized body within the media structure that operates in Somalia.

SOMESHA University now joined FESU confederation just to speedup expanding its mission and vision in across the Federal level states. SOMESHA University was created 2020 but announced in 2024 December.

The members of SOMESHA are professionals whose mission is to tell the world about the substantial challenges of environmental concerns in the country which is far less studied. And they are the current journalists and media professionals including reporters, editors, webmasters and producers working for all media outlets in the country.
